Basic Life and AD&D Insurance

Pursuit Aerospace provides full-time employees with Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage at no cost to protect your beneficiaries financially if you die. Coverage is equal to 1 x salary, up to $300,000* and is provided through The Standard.

*When employer-provided group term life insurance (basic life insurance) exceeds $50,000 for an employee, the value of the excess coverage (as determined by the IRS) must be reported as income.

Voluntary Additional Life and AD&D Insurance

You can choose to purchase additional term life and AD&D insurance coverage for yourself, your spouse and/or dependent children, up to age 26 to provide added financial security.

Who You’re CoveringCoverage Amount
EmployeeYou can purchase, in increments of $10,000, up to a maximum of $500,000. When you first become eligible, you can purchase coverage up to $200,000 without providing Evidence of Insurability (EOI). Requests for amounts over $200,000 will require you to complete and submit to The Standard, for approval, an EOI form.
SpouseYou can purchase coverage for your spouse, in increments of $5,000, up to your supplemental election or $500,000, whichever is less. When you first become eligible, you can purchase coverage up to $50,000 without providing Evidence of Insurability (EOI). Requests for amounts over $50,000 will require your spouse to complete and submit to The Standard, for approval, an EOI form.
Dependent ChildYou can purchase coverage in the amount of $10,000 that applies to each of your eligible children.

If you elect coverage amounts greater than the guaranteed issued amounts (over $200,000 for employees and over $50,000 for spouses), you will need to complete the Evidence of Insurability Application Form and return it directly to The Standard for review. You will not be covered, and you will not be charged premiums for any amounts greater than the guaranteed issued amounts, until you are approved by The Standard. The increased coverage amount will be effective when the EOI has been approved.
